GEC fusegear has been sold in N.America since 1957. At the time the ‘English Electric’ fuse products were the only HRC fuses available, and much of Canada’s heavy industry adopted these English Electric fuses as their standard.

Today, after having gone through many changes/mergers/acquisitions, these same products continue to be available under the GE Power Controls label. The part numbers and performance remain unchanged and English Electric/GEC part numbers and specifications still appear in industrial fuse requirements.
